To be fair, I haven't been on for months.

So yeah. Hi. I'm blaming my thesis for the last few months. It was a very very long novella.

To be fair, I also had video games. They're good for distractions. Summoners War: Sky Arena was one. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire is the other. I actually have a commentary blog for Alpha Sapphire. Because as much as I love everything they did to upgrade the original Sapphire, it's still really ridiculous that the ten year old is expected to save the world because they just happen to have the other Orb. (But seriously, that game is amazing. They took a favorite game, made things better, and then told me to replay some of my childhood.)

Summoners War was also great, but that's because it's a free game and I could let it play auto while I was doing homework. If anyone needs a mobile game and don't mind if it drains your battery fast, that is the game.

On the writing front, the Alpha Sapphire commentary has been the main side project. Now that the thesis is done, I am trying to write out some fanfic ideas. I want to focus on a lot of the one shot ideas, because multi-chapters take me a long time and I would rather not have to drag it out for years. If it's a multi-chapter, I want to at least writer 50% of it before I start posting.

Hm... Not sure what else to say. Guess that means I better go do something else productive.

*waves* Yeah, that is referencing Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey. I had to watch two movie adaptations of it for class this week. *sighs, then waves again*

I've been back for a few months, but I've been working to settle some things before getting back into everything here. That, and the 2k+ deviations on my watch list alone demanded my attention. (I got through about half of them at this point. And journals are going even slower.)

I have gotten back into writing, although it has been going slowly. I've set up the basic goal of at least 100 words a day to one story or another. Right now the focus is finishing off Dying Lullaby before the year ends. And it might actually be feasible if I stick with the goal. That being said, we all know how good I am at this...

Abroad was rather amazing. I went to Scotland out of a recommendation and a desire to not be in London. Which is funny, really; I used to believe that I would go to London up until it came time to actually consider applying. Then I actually realized how easily I get sick of the urban setting. So that went out of the window rather quickly. Then someone said Scotland, and I was like, "Well, that sounds fun."

Scotland itself was very interesting. I picked up some of the dialect for my speech patterns, and got to see some amazing sights. And became appreciative of kilts. Because really, those things are really cool. And bagpipes, which is a bit of a cliché, but there was a guy on the corner of the street playing Star Wars with bagpipes at one point of my life, and I've memorized it. Seriously. It was amazing. Stirling Castle was probably my favorite place; it's pretty preserved and lacks the massive amounts of tourists that Edinburgh Castle has. (I really wanted to like that castle, but way too many people visiting it at one time.)

(And in a different story, when I returned here, I was hanging out with two friends at a book sale. I grabbed a CD of bagpipes because I need to make up for the lack of it in my life.

One friend said, "I heard the best bagpipe music in an anime."

First thing I snapped back was, "Dude, I was in Scotland. I think I win."

"But this anime was good!"

"But Scotland. You haven't even heard anything from Scotland, have you?"

"But no, seriously-"

"But Scotland.")

So yeah. Miss me?

So... I'm studying abroad. And kinda not writing to be posted because I am constantly distracted by the fact that I am abroad. Sorry

Well, more proof that I am still around and have an existence beyond the few posts that I manage to get in.

Because my last journal was posted back in June. :/

-I'm in a creative writing class and have quite a few poems to eventually get around to posting. It's between some needing mass editting and just not having my notebook right now.

-The number of sexual induenndos in Shakespeare is a bit appauling, if only because they were never pointed out beforehand. It's hard to think that they had a lot of dirty jokes during those times.

-Long overdue news: Ketrino and I are working on a Yu-Gi-Oh! collab fanfiction. And when I say "we are working" I mean that she's way ahead of me because I haven't worked on updating what I have, a combination of too much real life stuff and then using what little free time I do have to do other things. (I'm a horrible person. I know. :/)

-So, over the summer, I learned what Criminal Minds is. If Spencer Reid was actually a person, I would date him in a heartbeat. (And that's a vast improvement over my usual "You have a Y-chromosome so I'm probably going to abuse you" attitude that I tend to carry around.)

-Wal-mart was selling a "Modern Vampire" wig that looks like a certain sparkling fairy's hair. Really, people. Really?

-Friend brought over Super Smash Brothers Brawl and we've been playing a lot of it in his room. I actually learned how to play, which is better than the button mashing I did when I was over at people's houses in high school. I do know how to Thunder spam with Pikachu, and recently been playing as Pit. So much fun.

-Helped moderate this years Humans vs Zombies at my college. I was the "robot mod" since I was acting as referee and wasn't actually playing. Zombies won.

-I've been trying to outline fanfics completely before actually writing to give myself a sense of what I'm doing. I made a complete one for Dying Lullaby (now just to write it) and starting another one for Game of Chess and various oneshots.

-Watched No. 6 in anime club, and I might one day make a rewrite fanfic, because of all the rushing the show did. (Really, one light novel=one episode? Who thought that was a good idea?!)

Yeah. Not much else I can think of.
